About Us

WUSC, or the World University Service of Canada, is a network of individuals and post-secondary institutions who believe that all peoples are entitled to the knowledge and skills necessary to contribute to a more equitable world. The majority of members form Local Committees that consist of students, faculty and staff in over 80 active college and university campuses across Canada.

Our mission is to foster human development and global understanding through education and training. For us, education is the one universal path leading to a better and more equitable world, the path that both reveals our responsibility to contribute to the common good and makes it possible for us to do so.

Our award-winning projects are developed to address local needs and reduce poverty, and are delivered with local partners to ensure sustainability. We also support development education activities and international programs at Canadian colleges and universities.

W.U.S.C. at Trent University

The WUSC Local Committee at Trent University is made up of students, faculty, and community members who are involved in international cooperation initiatives. Along with the tremendous and valuable support that our Local Committee receives from the Trent International Program, WUSC at Trent University also collaborates with other on-campus organizations who share similar interests.

The main priorities of the Local Committee are:

How can you get involved?

Are you interested in joining WUSC at Trent University? If you are then we would like to hear from you! There are many sub-committees available within WUSC at Trent University and we are always looking for new talent to fill positions. Find out more about how you can volunteer your time and skills. For more information you can contact us or speak directly to any one of our members during WUSC events held at Trent University.

Two such events are the Trent University Clubs & Groups Day, held at the beginning of the Fall semester, and the Trent Open House, held in March/April every year. On both these occasions many other campus organizations set up information booths where prospective and current students can find out more about groups they may be interested in joining. WUSC is always present, so look out for the bright blue T-shirts and give us a shout! (For directions on finding Trent University use Google Maps!)

If, on the other hand, you are interested in making a donation to the organization, please feel free to do so. Visit our donations page for more information.
