This year, the CCR is marking 30 years of building a home of justice for refugees and immigrants. Participate in the CCR Fall Consultation in Toronto from November 27-29 and join hundreds of refugee and immigrant rights advocates in sessions that cover a wide range of issues affecting refugee protection and newcomer settlement and integration.

Subsidies are available for youth participants who will be traveling to CCR Fall Consultation. Application forms and more information can be found on the Canadian Council for Refugees website.

CCR Spring Consultation in Winnipeg

The following comes to us from WUSC in Ottawa:

The Canadian Council for Refugees (www.ccrweb.ca) is having their annual Spring Consultation from May 22-24 in Winnipeg, and they have identified youth participation as a priority. They are now offering travel subsidies to Winnipeg, as well as reduced participation fees for youth (aged 18-25).

[It] would be great to see some friendly Local Committee faces in the crowd. [This event] is a highly engaging and informative conference. Check out the CCR’s website for more information, and consider applying. (NB: the deadline for applying for a travel subsidy is Friday, 9th May!)

If you will be attending, please contact Sarah Angus so that a time can be arranged for Local Committee members to meet.

Hope to see you there!
