Executive positions for 2010/2011 now open

WUSC at Trent University refreshes its Executive body every year because we feel that persons who have the skills need to be given a chance to lead. The injection of new ideas and energy keeps WUSC alive and allows for greater strides towards changing the world through education.
This year, quite a few of our existing members will be graduating from Trent University and leaving to pursue life elsewhere. We hope that other members will be able to step up and continue the great work that our organization has been engaged in for such a long time.
So if you are interested in being on the Local Committee Executive, please contact us and inform us of your intentions. All we require is that you give 3 reasons as to why you will be the ideal person for the position. This does not have to be formal or a lengthy essay. The deadline for submissions is Tuesday, April 6th.
Interested persons are asked to read the committee descriptions so as to become familiar with the responsibilities of the respective positions. The positions that are available include:

- SRP Finance Committee Coordinator
- Events Committee Coordinator
- Publicity Committee Coordinator

Executive meeting on 18-JAN-2010 and other important news

Our next WUSC at Trent University meeting for committee executives will be held on Monday, January 18th, 2010, at 5:00pm in the LEC Pit. If you hold an executive position within the Local Committee, you are expected and encouraged to attend this very important meeting. During this meeting, we will be talking about Better World Books and next year’s intern.
Other Notices
Referendum Web Training Postponement – The next web training session that is being provided by WUSC in Ottawa will be held this Wednesday, January 13th. Members are asked to contact our Local Committee co-chairs via e-mail as soon as possible if they are interested in attending this seminar.
WUSC Local Committee Get-together – WUSC staff will be holding a get-together for regional Local Committees at the University of Toronto New College campus on Saturday, January 23rd, and Sunday, January 25th, from 8:30-4:30pm and 8:30-2:30pm on the respective days. Matters to be dealt with include the SRP and the various Uniterra campaigns. At least one prospective Local Committee executive member and an existing executive member of WUSC at Trent University are encouraged to attend. Please contact our Local Committee co-chairs via e-mail for more information and to obtain forms that require completion prior to attending.
TCSA Referendum Petition Deadline – Petitions are due on Thursday, January 21st. Those members within the Finance Committee are kindly asked to obtain details on what WUSC at Trent University needs to do for this referendum petition.
Next executive meeting on Friday 26-Sept-2008

A meeting for all executive members of WUSC at Trent University is scheduled for this Friday, 26th September, at ‘Dreams of Beans‘ cafe in downtown Peterborough at 4:00pm. Mr. Paul Davidson, the executive director of WUSC, and Mr. Adam Mahamed, WUSC campus liaison officer for Southern Ontario, will be visiting and in attendance. Please make a special effort to attend as we seek to discuss the way forward for WUSC at Trent University.

All executive members of WUSC at Trent-U committees should note that there will be a meeting on Friday, 7th March, at 5:00pm in the Gzowski Gathering Space Morton Reading Room (Champlain College, adjacent the TIP Office).

There will be the first meeting of 2008 for executive members of committees on Friday, 18th January at 5:00pm in the Gathering Space of Gzowski College. Come prepared to talk about what will be discussed in the next general meeting.
Directions to the Gathering Space: From the main entrance of Gzowski College descend to the lower Atrium level and proceed in the direction of the Nozhem Theatre. The “Space” is located close to Nozhem Theatre along the hallway which is bordered by the GCS lecture rooms.
