The following comes to us from WUSC in Ottawa:
WUSC and the Campus Engagement Team is extremely pleased to welcome our new Campus Engagement Liaison Officers! Gervais, Adam, Michelle and Adrie will be supporting you, our valuable network of student, faculty and staff volunteers for the 2008-09 academic year. They will be responsible for liaising, supporting and guiding Local Committees in Uniterra and SRP related activities, disseminating best practices from across the country and developing resources to serve you better. They are located in four different cities across the country (Winnipeg, Toronto, Ottawa and Québec City) and will be working until March 31st, 2009. We encourage you to get in contact with them; get to know them. They will be a great resources throughout the year to seek advice, input or simply to share the successes of your committee. They are there for you!

The following comes to us from WUSC in Ottawa:
The Canadian Council for Refugees (www.ccrweb.ca) is having their annual Spring Consultation from May 22-24 in Winnipeg, and they have identified youth participation as a priority. They are now offering travel subsidies to Winnipeg, as well as reduced participation fees for youth (aged 18-25).
[It] would be great to see some friendly Local Committee faces in the crowd. [This event] is a highly engaging and informative conference. Check out the CCR’s website for more information, and consider applying. (NB: the deadline for applying for a travel subsidy is Friday, 9th May!)
If you will be attending, please contact Sarah Angus so that a time can be arranged for Local Committee members to meet.
Hope to see you there!
