10-December-2007: Human Rights Day
December 10, 2007 by TrentWUSC-IT · Leave a Comment
Today, December 10th, we celebrate the 60th anniversary to mark the adoption of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights. This year’s theme, “Dignity and justice for everyone,” reinforces the vision of the Declaration as a commitment to universal dignity and justice. WUSC volunteers in Canada, overseas, or on campus, contribute every day to make this Declaration a reality, may it be through our Student Refugee Program, which gives young refugees the opportunity to start a new life in an environment free of violence and fear, or WUSC’s Vocational Training for Women in Afghanistan Project, which assists widows in acquiring new skills.
